Smoky Cola Barbeque Sauce


Soft drinks, believe it or not, have a prominent place in barbeque cooking. Some cooks like to put it in the water of their water smokers. Some like to mix it up in their marinades. This recipe used cola for a swee smokey colat barbeque sauce. It is actually a pretty good sauce. Check it out. (recipe courtesy of Southern Living magazine).

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 3/4 cups of ketchup
  • 1 cup of Coke™ or Pepsi™
  • 1/2 cup butter or margerine
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. Combine in a small saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil and reduce heat, simmer for about 30 minutes
  3. Makes 3 1/2 cups
