All Around Barbeque Chicken Rub


This barbeque chicken rub recipe is excellent seasoning for chicken. Getting barbeque chicken right is tough so to help things along you need a good rub.

This chicken rub recipe will get you started in the right direction.

The is also a good rub to combine with “Beer Can” chicken or any other type of can when cooking chicken upright.

Add it to your recipe file for great barbeque chicken rubs.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Paprika
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1/4 cup celery salt
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons cayenne

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together
  2. Sprinkle on chicken and pat, avoid rubbing the rub away. You want it to cover the meat completely.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  4. Smoke the chicken following the “How to Barbeque” directions.
