Barbeque Pork Rub

All Around Barbeque Pork Rub

This is a basic barbeque pork rub that works well for shoulder and ribs. When you don’t have the convenience of multiple spices this is good alternative.

Tubinado sugar is used in this recipe and it is a coarsely granulated sugar that has light molasses flavor. Tubinado sugar doesn’t break down as readily under the heat as other sugars.

Sometimes it’s hard to find but you can easily buy it online.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sweet paprika
  • 1/2 cup turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt
  • 3 Teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon cayenne

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Sprinkle on shoulder or ribs.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  4. Smoke the pork following the “How to Barbeque” directions.

Enjoy!
