Spicy Coleslaw Goes Hand in Hand with Pulled Pork


coleslawThis is a good coleslaw recipe that’s been punched up with red pepper flakes. Coleslaw comes in many varieties. You can have it sweet or not so sweet.

This one has a little sweetness which is balanced with the sour of the mustard.

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 head purple cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 medium onion, grated
  • 2 carrots shredded
  • 1/2 red Bell pepper, thin julienne
  • Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Whisk all the dressing ingredients in a bowl until it is smooth and the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the Slaw ingredients.
  3. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
  4. For extra kick add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to taste.
