More Barbeque Cooking Utensils And Tools Needed for Great "Q"

Spatulas and Tongs

Spatula and Tongs

Spatulas and Tongs fit into the category of other barbeque cooking utensils. The new smoker barbeque cook has to keep in mind that he is working with large cuts of meat.

Those large cuts usually don't stand up to the same barbeque cooking utensils used for hamburgers and hot dogs. You have to have strong, long, and sturdy tools.

It's worth it to invest in a good set of tools because if you buy quality then these tools should last a lifetime. Handles made of wood or sturdy plastic are best and they make the job easier.

Plastic Containers and Bags

Real smoked barbeque requires marinating and refrigeration. To marinate properly, the containers have to sized large enough to hold a large shoulder or brisket.

I've found that marinating gets better results when the container is sealable.

Find containers that are made of dishwasher proof plastic with sealable tops to marinate your food. I've recently found a container that is used for large cakes to be the ideal container for a Boston Butt.

Sealable plastic bags are also useful for smaller items of food like chicken parts.

If you are going to smoke a turkey use a cooler but obviously it's too large for your refrigerator so use ice bags for keeping it cold.

Mason Jars

Mason Jars

You may not think so but Mason jars good barbeque cooking utensils and are great for storing rubs. We got this tip from watching Alton Brown on the Food network.

He said to use both lids and to put holes in the inner lid and to cover the holes with the outer lid. It works great. Just use some writable tape on the outside of the jar to mark and name your rub.

The great thing about Mason jars are that they are cheap. You can get a whole box of jars without spending a lot of money.
